About Me

It was the summer of '71 when I came into this world....

JUST KIDDING! There's no way I'm going to bore you all with the tedious details of my entire life. :)

I've always enjoyed crafty stuff but nothing stuck until I was in my 30s and discovered scrapbooking. As a testament to that obsession, my landing upstairs (and a good portion of the spare room) has stacks of now-abandoned scrappy supplies. (I really should do something with all those lovely items one of these days.) Then there are the tubs of fabric that are leftover from my sewing days. If I could find a replacement pedal for my machine I'm quite sure I could find a way to incorporate my meager sewing skills with my current hobby of crocheting. I also love to bake. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't have much of a sweet tooth so I have to keep baked goods at a minimum in my house or he's going to have to widen all the door ways for me. I'm also an amateur photographer (but then again, isn't everyone these days?). So basically, my little corner of the internet is going to be a mishmash of all of my past and current obsessions.

So why "The Cardinal Crafter"? I was trying to come up with some really clever, snarky name for my blog and decided that this worked instead. As I am a born and bred Hoosier and the cardinal being the state bird, it works on that level. Secondly, I am an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. (When I say "avid" fan, no, I can't quote stats and rosters and stuff like that. My husband terms it "girly-fan".) The last little piece of the puzzle is, I just like cardinals. They are such pretty birds and even though I hate snow, there is nothing prettier than a bright red cardinal against a snowy backdrop in the winter.

Anyway....now that I've bored you brainless, welcome to my corner of the world. I hope that you can find some interesting stuff here and I hope you can share your interesting stuff with me...
